things I learned in my speech class

1. don't end a speech with "...and that's it."

2. don't itch yourself

3. the audience can tell if you're avoiding looking them in the eye

4. it's better to pause instead of uhm-ing

5. don't refer to anaudience as "you guys"

6. if no one laughs at a joke, move on immediately

7. write the speech before you give it
